A Harrison Memorial Hospital Spring Gala was held at Ashford Acres Inn’s Banquet Hall, on Saturday evening, April 20.
The purpose of the 300 person gathering was to help raise funds for the HMH Women’s Health Center remodel, including a new C-section suite.
According to Mollie Smith, the hospital’s marketing director and assistant to CEO Dr. Stephen Toadvine, the hospital has three surgical rooms, but one of them has always been reserved for emergency C-section deliveries.
She said the new C-section surgery suite will be located in the Obstetrical Department/Women’s Health Center.
Funds generated will be dedicated for that project. Funds were raised through silent auction and live auction bidding, sponsorships and donations.
The presenting sponsor was the HMH Auxiliary with a $35,000 donation. Tremendous support was also given by several other groups who donated funds for the project.
The gala was led by HMH Chief Stratey Officer David Asher.
