Marvin Douglas Harney, 79

Marvin Douglas Harney, 79, of Cynthiana, age 79, passed away on March 30 at home. He was born in Harrison County on January 28, 1945, to the late Irvin Estill and Edna G. Garrison Harney.

Marvin was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Cathy Stallings; and two sisters, Linda Ammerman and Janet Bertram.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Gale Baker Harney; three sons, Terry Douglas (Claire) Harney, Chris Robin (Amy) Harney and Gary Lee (Stacey Dee) Harney; one daughter, Angie Gale (Billy) Roberts; a brother, Larry Wyles (Carla) Harney; grandchildren, Gary Allen Stallings, Cherlyn (Scott) Benningfield, Calvin McDonald, Hayden Harney, Eleanor Harney, Tanner Heath Harney, Shelby Nicole (Andrew Hylton) Roberts, Dray Douglas Roberts; and two great-grandchildren, Gracie Benningfield, Cody Stallings.

Marvin proudly served his country with the USAF in the Vietnam War as a survival technician. He also loved to tinker on anything mechanical, loved to farm, and worked hard to provide for his family. Funeral services for Marvin will be held Thursday, April 4 at 7 p.m. at Ware Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to services on Thursday, April 4 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., also at Ware Funeral Home. Reverend Antonio Stuckey will facilitate services for the Harney family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators, 1317 US-62, Cynthiana, KY 41031.
