The Harrison County Fillies improved to 19-4 on the year with an 8-0 victory over the Mason County Lady Royals Monday night on the Hilltop.
Harrison County got on the board in the bottom of the first inning. Shyanne Ross led off with a single. Emma Hamm then homered to left field and Harrison County was up 2-0. Bella Persinger singled and with two outs Trista Ritchie was safe on an error. Allison Dye followed with a line drive single to centerfield single scoring two runs and giving the Fillies a 4-0 lead after one inning.
Harrison County added one run in the 4th inning. Aleigha Newby led off with a walk. With one out Hamm singled. Both runners moved up on a wild pitch. Persinger then hit into a fielders choice scoring Newby and giving the Fillies a 5-0 lead.
The Fillies added two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. With one out, Trista Ritchie homered to center field giving the Fillies a 6-0 lead. Allison Dye and Lexie Highlander both had infield hits with Dye going to third on a throwing error. Baylee Hudgins was safe on an error scoring Dye and giving the Fillies a 7-0 lead.
Harrison County added their final run in the sixth inning. Persinger led off with a single. With one out she advanced to second base on a wild pitch. Owyn McCoy then lined a single to left field scoring the final run and giving the Fillies an 8-0 victory.
Shyanne Ross picked up the complete game shutout victory in the circle. Ross surrendered only two hits while striking out eleven.
Harrison County accumulated 12 hits in the game. Persinger, Ross, Dye, Hamm, and Ritchie each collected two hits for the Fillies. McCoy and Highlander each added one hit for Harrison County. Dye and Hamm each drove in two runs for the Fillies. Harrison County also turned one double play in the game.
The Harrison County JV defeated the Mason County JV 11-0 in three innings.
The Fillies will be hosting a Triangle on the Hilltop this Saturday. Harrison County will face Dixie Heights at 10:00 a.m. and battle with Rowan County at 1:30.
