ACCIDENTS
Jan. 31
Dep. James Sexton worked a single-vehicle accident on KY 36, 3.5 miles NW of Cynthiana. Isaiah N. Mann said he was looking down at his cell phone and ran off the left shoulder of the roadway. He went into a ditch and down a fence row, hitting a fence post.
Jan. 30
Dep. Jordan Scott worked a two-vehicle accident on US 62, 9.8 miles SW of Cynthiana. Lakenrick Boyers was turning right onto US 62, from Leesburg-Newtown Road. Kolby C. Ratliff was driving eastbound on US 62. Mr. Boyers said he thought Mr. Raliff was going to turn onto Leesburg-Newtown Road, and began to turn right. Mr. Ratliff said he was not in the turning lane and intended to stay on US 62 toward Cynthiana. The two cars collided, with Mr. Ratliff’s vehicle hitting a utility pole.
Jan. 29
Dep. Michael Thomas worked a two-vehicle rear-end accident on Coppage Road, 12 miles west of Cynthiana. Austin Creech said that an unknown vehicle and driver had rear-ended him with a truck and failed to stop.
Jan. 24
Dep. Jordan Scott worked a single-vehicle accident on US 27, 10 miles north of Cynthiana. John Smith, Carlisle, driving south on US 27 in a tractor/trailer, swerved into the northbound lane to avoid a vehicle that had pulled in front of him off of Shawhan Lane. Mr. Smith tried to turn back into his lane, lost control and his trailer jack-knifed, hitting a road sign and trees.
