    Carson earns full scholarship at NKY

    Former Fillies’ second baseman Michelle Carson, daughter of Amy Wiglesworth, has received a full scholarship from Northern Kentucky University to play her senior season for the Lady Norse.

    The Harrison County Thorobreds golf team and the Harrison County Fillies team won duel matches during the last week and each team continues to improve as the season moves along.  

    Last Wednesday the Fillies traveled to Pendleton County and were defeated by one of the better teams in the region, the Pendleton County Lady Cats, 254 to 190.

    Coach Bill Faulkner’s Harrison County Fillies volleyball team won three straight sets to open the 2013 season with a victory over St. Patrick on the Hilltop Monday night.  

    The Fillies won hard-fought matches each time as the Saints from Maysville battled them tooth and nail.

    Soccer Fillies have first scrimmage Saturday in Frankfort
    The Harrison County Fillies will have their first test Saturday as they travel to Frankfort to play in the Frankfort Soccerama.  
    The Fillies will be one of 10 soccer teams in the all-day event which begins at 9 a.m. with the host Lady Panthers facing Spencer County. Franklin County will do battle with East Jessamine at 11 a.m. followed by a 1 p.m. tussle between Presentation of Louisville and Bath County.
