    Kev’s claims bowling
    tournament title
    The sixth annual Jody Wachter Memorial Bowling Tournament was held over the last two weekends, Feb. 1 and 2, and Feb. 9 and 10.
    Kev’s, a local bowling team competing in the Wednesday Night League at Galactic Alley, rolled a score of 3,606 to claim the top spot. Team members are Allen Wachter, Kevin Perkins, Rick Thompson, Kris Caswell and Daniel Perkins. Mint Brook Farms, also from Cynthiana, came in as runners up.

    Indoor track season begins with meet at Nutter Fieldhouse
    Saturday saw the beginning of the indoor track season with the Wildcat Track Classic at the University of Kentucky’s Nutter Fieldhouse. The weather, as we all know, has not been conducive for outdoor training so the Fillies and Thorobreds have been concentrating on hurdles indoors. The results Saturday were evidence of that.

    The 2014 HCHS Basketball Homecoming Court was named last Friday between the Fillies and Thorobreds basketball games. The court consisted of, front row, from left, crown bearers Ansleigh Earlywine, daughter of William and Allison Earlywine, and Landon Kinney, son of Jeff and Kim Kinney; back row, runners up Jaclyn Fryman and Jordan Gasser; queen Morgan Eden; king Wyatt Whitson; runners up Brooklin Wiggins and John King.

  • Mike’s Minute: One big surprise

    I would have never thought that Sunday’s Super Bowl would have turned out the way it did with Seattle making a mockery of Denver’s offense.  

    I have always believed that a good defense will top a good offense, but somehow, with Peyton Manning playing, I just didn’t believe that it would happen the way it did.
