    Fillies basketball camp
    June 5-7 at HCHS
    Coach Kim Marshall has announced that the Fillies Summer Basketball Camp will be held in the Harrison County High School gym on Tuesday, June 5 through Thursday, June 7.
    The camp will be from 8:30-11:30 a.m. all three days.  Registration will be between 8 and 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5.

    The HCMS Soccer Fillies traveled to the neutral site of LCA because the Conference tournament finals rotates through the conference alphabetically and it was their turn to host.
    This was the third finals in as many years and they were trying to complete the three-peat. The two best teams in the regular season were the Fillies with a 9-1-0 record and Robert Campbell at 8-2-0 on the season.

    Harrison County’s pole vault record holder, Senior Haley Creech cleared 10’ Saturday in route to a third place finish in the KHSAA State Track and Field Class 2A Meet.  
    The meet which was postponed due to weather on Friday was won by Boyle County who edged Mercer County 84-74.  The Fillies were 23rd with Creech scoring all eight points.  
    Along with her third place finish in the pole vault Creech was 7th in the 300M hurdles in :48.46 seconds.

    The Harrison County Middle School and Harrison County High School have selected new cheer coach/sponsors for the 2018-19 school year. Candida Lewis will be the HCMS coach and Stephanie McClanahan the HCHS coach.
    Lewis was the assistant coach during the immediate past season to Mackenzie Leathers. Leathers resigned as a teacher and went into the real estate business with her family along with having the desire to spend more time with her young family.

    Harrison County scored a run in the first, two in the second and five more times in the sixth inning to ease past Pendleton County, 8-0, Monday in the opener of the 38th District Tournament on the Hilltop.

    All is right with the world.  The Harrison County Fillies assumed their rightful place in the 38th District order as they defeated Nicholas County Monday night 5-3 and came back Tuesday to defeat Pendleton County. 4-0.
    Monday’s game was a scoreless battle until the bottom of the third when the Fillies got three straight singles from Jima Hill, Madison Polley and Olivia Partin with Partin’s hit driving in Miracle Switzer who was running for Hill.

    The Harrison County Fillies are beginning to right the ship as they played six games in seven days winning four of them and three by huge margins.

    The Harrison County Thorobreds traveled to Mt. Sterling on Friday and Saturday last week and came away with two losses before a late Saturday night thumping of the host Indians.  The Breds lost the first game to Perry County Central as UK signee Braxton Cottengame hurled a no-hitter.

    The D2 Summit is the most prestigious all-star cheerleading event for gyms across the country.
    This year, the HCA Gems qualified all of their Summit-eligible teams to attend the year-end event produced by Varsity All Star in Orlando, Florida, last weekend.
