    The annual Alumni Night soccer match will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, on LeBus Field. This event will showcase both the 2014 Thorobreds and past players who turn out to do battle with their younger counterparts.

    Cynthia Powell won the 45th Annual Burley Belles Tournament at the Cynthiana Country Club defeating runner up Laurie Goodlet by three strokes with a gross score of 149 to Goodlet’s 152.

    Sixty-plus lady golfers will be on hand Friday and Saturday at the Cynthiana Country Club for the 45th annual Burley Belles Invitational Tournament.  
    The event, sponsored by the Ladies Golf Association of the Cynthiana Country Club, will have three former champions in the field including the defending champion Cynthia Powell.

    “Youth” and “veteran” usually do not go together, but in the case of Harrison County’s golf teams, it is a perfect description.  
    One senior, Fillies’ Morgan Nelly, stands on the roster of the Fillies and Thorobreds with only two juniors, six sophomores, three eighth graders, a seventh grader and a fifth grader making up the total of Coach Jason Crisp’s 2014 line up.  
    The Fillies’ assumed No. 1 player, the sweet-swinging sophomore Sarah Holland, stands out among the Fillies roster.
