  • Summer baseball and softball...

    Summer baseball and softball at River Road Park is slowly coming to an end. Several mid-season rainouts have delayed the conclusion of the season. The regular season for teeball, coach-pitch, baseball a and softball should end within the next week or so.

    All star teams will be selected and several post-season tournaments, both sanctioned and unsanctioned will be played, beginning in July.

    Harrison County High School golf try-outs will be held July 16 at the Cynthiana Country Club. Try-out will promptly begin at 7:30 a.m.
    You must have a valid sports physical to try out.

    High school golf try-outs will be held July 17 at the Cynthiana Country Club. Try-out will promptly begin at 7:30 a.m. and you must have a valid sports physical to try out.

    Coach Christine Garnett and her staff held the annual Harrison County High School fast pitch softball banquet and awards ceremony Thursday evening at the Cynthiana Christian Church.  
    The speaker for the evening and the supplier of the meal was 1998 Harrison County graduate and 2002 Virginia Tech graduate Eliza Ollinger.  

  • Football Alumni announces 2018...

    The Harrison County Football Alumni Association has set the date and time for the 2018 HCFAA Banquet.  
    The banquet will be held in the Harrison County Field House on Saturday, August 4, beginning with a reception at 4 p.m. and the meal at 5.  This is a special night full of storytelling, fun and fellowship.  The event supports scholarships for the Harrison County football program.

    The Harrison County High School track teams, coached by Danny Simpson and Robert Walker, held its annual awards ceremony Tuesday, June 12. 
    The coaches presented Senior Awards to Haley Creech, Hannah Creech, Kelby Gaunce, Laura Beth Ledford, Karlee Migneault, Brooklyn Moore, Rachel Swinford, Braden Bryant and Ryan Tobin.

    Rob Ogden gets in a practice round leading up to the two-day Joe Mooney Invitational Golf Tournament to be held this weekend at the Cynthiana Country Club.Two-time defending champion, and five-time winner Joe Henson is in the field for the 54th annual golf tournament.

  • ‘93 Breds baseball champs to be...

    The 1993 state champion Harrison County High School baseball team will be honored on Friday night during the first game of the Whitaker Bank-KHSAA State Baseball Championship semi-final game, at Whitaker Bank Park in Lexington.
    That championship was the first of three state titles earned by coach Mac Whitaker and the Thorobreds in the 1990s. The Breds also won titles in 1997 and 1998. They added a fourth state championship during the 2010 season.
