    Traffic Cases
    The following information from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office indicates drivers and/or owners whose vehicles were involved in accidents.
    Jan. 13 -- At 3:35 p.m., a non-injury accident occurred on Kings Lane about eight miles west of town. John Elligsen of KY Highway 1842 was traveling north when he entered a curve too fast and lost control, running into a fence.

    Arrests, citations, warnings
    Jan. 11 -- Michael D. Harney, 44, was arrested on Bourbon County warrants for DUI (aggravated circumstances), failure to maintain insurance, contempt of court (two counts), one headlight, DUI 2nd (aggravated circumstances, possession of open alcoholic beverage in vehicle, operating on suspended/revoked operator’s license, fourth degree assault, domestic violence.
    Jan. 11 -- Aaron C. Newby, 23, was cited on Stokley Road for possession of marijuana and license plate not illuminated.

  • This one is for the wounded

    Earlier today I got a jump on spring cleaning and tackled my “column fodder” pile of scribbles and note fragments.
    Sometimes people ask how I think of stuff to write each week. I’d like to say, “The Spirit moves me,” and sometimes that’s hopefully true. Most of the time, however, I read or hear something that sparks a thought. Some result in a full-blown column and some merely snippets.
    Today is a snippets day.

    Come to Indian Creek Baptist Church on Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. and hear the country/bluegrass gospel of Larry and Jerry Tucker.

    WarEagle Ministries Praise and Worship Center invites all to come and worship. Come as you are.
    A hymn/gospel sing will take place on the first Saturday of each month at 6 p.m.

  • Love is an ability we must share with others

    In the book of I John 4:7 is says; “…let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.”
    Love is something that we all have the ability to do and need to share with others.
    I love my wife, my children, my grandchildren. But I also love others who aren’t blood related to me.
    As we look around town, or in a store, or a restaurant there are many who need a smiling face to reinforce that not everyone is evil in this world.
