  • Southern States to open new showroom in November

    After 67 years in the same general location, the Cynthiana branch of the Southern States Co-op will soon move to a new location on U.S. 27 South.
    The showroom will open sometime in November, said store manager Dale Duckworth, but it will be low key.
    The grand opening celebration will be this spring, he said.
    “We’re wanting to take things slow at first. Work out all the bugs. There’s always things to work out when you move to a new place,” Duckworth said.

  • Friday is last Dracula performance

    Dracula attempts to stake his claim on the soul of Mina Harker. There will be a special final performance of harriCYN Community Theatre’s Dracula on Friday, Oct. 31, beginning at 10 p.m. at the old Harrison County Jail on Pike Street. Tickets are $12 at the door. Bring something warm to wear and drink on this grand finale presentation.

    A Missions Rally Weekend will be hosted by Antioch Mills Christian Church Nov. 7, 8 and 9.
    Glenn Bourne will be the guest speaker.
    Meals will be served before the Friday and Saturday services, beginning at 6 p.m. There will be special music at 6:45 with the Bourne speaking at 7 p.m.
    On Sunday, he will provide the sermon at the 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services. A meal will also be provided following the second service.
    Everyone is invited.


  • Mullett joins HMH medical staff

    Harrison Memorial Hospital welcomes Timothy Mullett, M.D., to the Specialty Clinic. Mullett is a professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Kentucky and has served as the Surgical Director of the Multidisciplinary Lung Cancer Clinic at the Markey Cancer Center.
    Cardiothoracic surgery is the field of medicine involved in surgical treatment of diseases affecting organs inside the chest, generally the heart disease and lung disease.
