    June 9--Dep. Lance Hutchison worked a single-vehicle accident on Salem Pike, two and a half miles east of Cynthiana. Thomas Thompson stated that he met a large pickup pulling a trailer and the truck came around a curve too far onto his side of the road. Thompson said he was forced off the road and struck a mailbox and a newspaper box, owned by Joseph D. Hudgins.

    May 17 -- At 11:29 a.m., Chelsea and Alison Hendricks reported that a number of items, valued at over $14,000 had been taken from her home on Bridge Street over a period of time beginning in October. Alison Hendricks said she hired Michael Shaw and Samantha Fugate to do some work on her house and that things began missing after that. Shaw reportedly admitted to taken $60 worth of change but denied taking any other items. However, on May 27, Hendricks was contacted by Shaw who apologized for what he had done.

    The annual Relay for Life will take place on Saturday, June 16, in downtown Cynthiana.
    The evening will boast a jam-packed schedule of events that will keep everyone busy for at least four hours.
    Cancer survivors are all invited to attend a dinner, hosted by Cynthiana Christian Church, 202 N. Main St. Registration for the dinner will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the church. The dinner will begin immediately after registration.

    The Hemp Days weekend kicks off with the second leg of the Summer Concert Series on Friday night, June 8.
    The featured musical group on Friday will be local favorites, Boogie G and the Titanics.
    The three-piece band specializes in classic rock, soul and funk.
    Band leader George Burdette is the vocalist and bass guitar player. He is supported by top-flight guitarist Dan Trisko and drummer Steve Lewis.
