  • Commission re-evaluates take-home fleet for city police department

    The Cynthiana City Commission will once again consider sending police officers home... with their cruisers.

    “There are benefits to the department and the city,” said Commissioner Amanda Moore at Tuesday evening’s city commission meeting.

    The police department’s ‘take home fleet’ had ended in July 2007, after the commission at the time voted to discontinue the program.

  • HCMS Colts vs. Mason Royals at the Fleming County Cougar Bowl

    The Harrison County Middle School Colts seventh and eighth grade football teams traveled to Fleming County this past Saturday morning to play the Mason County Royals in the first session of the 2009 Cougar Bowl.

    The HCMS teams have been working hard for nearly a month on fundamentals, technique, plays, and conditioning in preparation for the 2009 season.

In 1895, the capacity was doubled by the purchase of a 125 horsepower Lane & Bradley engine and a 1,500 fight dynamo.
