  • Don’t fall for ‘free’ airline ticket scam

    Consumers across the country are receiving mailings indicating that they have won two round-trip tickets from US Airlines, according to a recent release from the Better Business Bureau. Another similar letter indicates that one can redeem a travel voucher for two round-trip, airline tickets. This letter also contains what appears to be a check but says “Must Be Redeemed for travel certificate,” near the bottom.

  • Living an awe-full life

    The other day I listened to an interview with Alexandra Horowitz as she discussed her book, “On Looking: Eleven Walks with Expert Eyes.”
    She lives in New York City with a dog and a toddler, and frequently walks around her neighborhood, traveling the same route, passing the same buildings and businesses and trees and traffic.
    After taking the same walk many hundreds of times, she realized she never noticed where she was going. So, the next time out she decided to notice as much as she could.

  • HMH awarded Best Places to Work in Kentucky for third consecutive year

    Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) was recently named as one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky 2013. The awards program was created in 2005 and is a project of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM) and Best Companies Group.
