  • 2018 School Letters

    Dear Eastside Families,
    I hope the summer has been full of great moments and family fun. Eastside staff members are incredibly excited to begin the 2018-19 school year! We will work hard to provide a year filled with exciting opportunities for students.
    Eastside will host a “Back to School Night” on Tuesday, Aug. 7 from 5:30-7:00. This event will give your child the opportunity to meet his/her new teacher, connect with old and new friends, and get ready for an amazing school year!

    I  hope this letter finds you and your student(s) looking forward to the 2018-2019 school year as much as the faculty and staff at the Harrison County Area Technology Center (HCATC) are. High school students from Bourbon County, Harrison County, Nicholas County and Paris Independent can  enroll in one of our eight programs and begin to prepare themselves for high-wage, high-demand and highly skilled careers.

  • Father/son duo wins Jungle, Lenox and Malone win Jungle Cups

    The father son duo of Danny and Eric Sanders eased past John Malone and Jim Ed Hill Sunday afternoon to win the two-day Jungle Tournament by one stroke.  The Jungle, named for the late Jim Letcher, sponsored by Palmer-Hampton Agency is a two-day tournament with four different formats for each nine holes of play.

    Pee Wee cheerleading sign ups
    Pee Wee cheerleading will have sign ups at Ingles Stadium for K-6 grade on the following dates on Fridays only. You can also sign up at Joe Cochran’s office five days a week. July 13, 20, 27, August 3, 10.
    Fee is $65 due on sign ups.
    Will travel and play on Saturdays and Sundays.

  • Is football in trouble?

    The World Cup of soccer and the Jungle Cup of golf are behind us now but with them comes, for me, the thought of football and its potential demise.  
    My cousin, Jeff, comes to Cynthiana from Columbus, Indiana, each year to play in the Jungle with me and he instills doubt in my mind each year about the relative health of youth football as a sport.  
    Jeff and I are like brothers and speak freely of our opinions without fear of upsetting the other’s fragile psyche like one may fear in a less-close relationship.  

  • Fillies soccer releases schedule for 2018

    Coach Kevin Gaunce of the Harrison County High School Soccer Fillies has released the team’s schedule for the 2018 soccer season.  
    The schedule features the traditional Tenth Region rivals along with some added out-of-region powers.  The Fillies will face Eleventh Region power Madison Central in a pre-season scrimmage on the road as well as face Eleventh Region powers Woodford County and Scott County away from home and Franklin County and Bryan Station on the Hilltop.
