  • Harrison County Sheriff's audit

    State Auditor Adam Edelen releases the audit of the sheriff’s settlement - 2010 taxes for Harrison County Sheriff Bruce Hampton. State law requires the auditor to annually audit the accounts of each county sheriff. In compliance with this law, the auditor issues two sheriff’s reports each year: one reporting on the audit of the sheriff’s tax account and the other reporting on the audit of the fee account used to operate the office.

    Feb. 17 -- Jonathan T. Wilson, 46, was given a warning for speeding on US 27 South.
    Feb. 17 -- Todd H. Antrobus, 44, was given a warning for speeding on US 27 South.
    Feb. 17 -- Angela D. Curzio, 34, was issued a warning for failure to wear seat belt while traveling South Walnut Street.

    Traffic Cases
    The following information from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office indicates drivers and/or owners whose vehicles were involved in accidents.

    Feb. 8 – At 3:26 a.m., a non-injury accident was reported on KY 392. William Cash was traveling on KY 392 when a deer jumped in front of him.
    Feb. 17 – At 10:40 a.m., a non-injury accident was reported on US 27. Tammy Fuller was traveling on Us 27 when she lost control of her vehicle and hit a culvert.

  • Harrison County District Court

    This past week, the Kentucky House of Representatives spent much of its time focusing on two important groups: Our children and our farmers.
    On Wednesday, for example, the full chamber voted to make viewing child pornography a crime, a move that would close a loophole that has made it tougher to prosecute pedophiles who don’t actually possess the images they view on the internet but don’t keep.

  • Thorobreds win at Montgomery County

    The Harrison County Thorobreds were playing their best basketball of the season at just the right time as they won their fifth straight game Friday over the Montgomery County Indians.  
    In a thrilling game played on the Indians’ floor in Mt. Sterling, the Thorobreds battled the favored home team in a game that saw six ties and 11 lead changes.  
    Harrison County led 9-2 at the start as they jumped out on the cold shooting Indians on the Montgomery County Senior Night.
