    MIDWAY DEAN’S LIST
    Midway University announces the students who have been named to its Dean’s List for the 2018 spring semester. To be named to the list, a student must be classified as full-time and obtain a 3.60 grade point average for the semester.
    Local students includes: Kenzi Rebecca Graves, Autumn Gray, Daelee Sebastien Moreland, Briana Wilder, Carmen Jean Bruin, all of Harrison County, and Cassie Elizabeth Fryman, Bracken County.

  • Two local artists accepted in National Juried Art Exhibition

    Both Wes Mallory’s painting “Promise of Adventure” and “Robert Fulton’s painting “Zen Garden” were accepted into ViewPoint 50, 2018 a national juried art competition sponsored by the Cincinnati Art Club. This marks the 50th year for this annual competition which comprises 90 works by national artists in various media.

  • First day for students at St. Edward Catholic School
  • New scholarship allows KCTCS students to earn $1,500-2,000 on their way to an associate degree

    Versailles, Ky. – The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) is offering a new scholarship to help students complete their associate degrees in two years or less. The 15 to Finish scholarship will pay $500 to students who successfully complete 15 credit hours in a semester and enroll for an additional 15 hours the next semester. Research shows students who take at least 15 hours a semester are more successful, graduate sooner and save money.

    Dillon Pulliam of Cynthiana, Kentucky, has been awarded a Fellowship worth $5,000 by The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi--the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Pulliam is one of 57 recipients nationwide to receive a Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship.
    Pulliam received bachelor’s degrees in computer engineering and computer science from University of Kentucky. As a Phi Kappa Phi Fellow, Pulliam will pursue a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.

    With the new school year almost ready to get started, parents of school-aged children, particularly those who will be starting school for the first time, need to be able to document individualized immunization and vaccination schedules.
    There are new immunization requirements this year regarding the Hepatitis A vaccine.
    The following information appears on the Harrison County School’s website and provided by Rachel Wilson, school district nurse.
