  • Career Day at Southside Elementary School

     Southside Elementary School hosted its annual     Career Day   for students on Thursday, April 11. Farm equipment, safety equipment, garbage trucks, cement mixers, animals of all sorts and professionals from all walks of life were on hand to share with the students about their specific jobs. At the end of the day, Ana Mae Brooks had her ice cream truck on hand to provide free treats for all the students.

  • HCMS 7-8th Grade Band

    The Harrison County Middle School 7th and 8th grade Band performed Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Frederick Douglas High School In Lexington, Ky. for the 2019 Kentucky Music Educators Concert Band Assessment. The 94 piece band performed Autumn Rains by Patrick Roszell and Willow Creek Festival by Steve Hodges. Students were adjudicated on their prepared pieces and on sight reading. They received 3 Distinguished ratings on their prepared pieces and a Distinguished plus on their sight reading. The band is under the direction of Julie Lucky.

  • HCMS 6th Grade Band

    The Harrison County Middle School 6th grade Beginning Band performed Monday, March 25, 2019 at Frederick Douglas High School in Lexington, Ky. for the 2019 Kentucky Music Educators Concert Band Assessment. The 86 piece band performed The Distant Castle and Air of Nobility by James Swearingen. Students were adjudicated on their prepared pieces and on sight reading.  They received Distinguished rating from all four judges. The band is under the direction of Julie Lucky.

  • Academia

    The WKU chapter of the Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE) International Honor Society in Economics will initiate 17 students during its annual initiation banquet April 5 at the Knicely Conference Center.
    These initiates join college students in 696 chapters across the world in recognition of scholastic attainment in economics. Students who are invited to membership in ODE must have completed 12 credit hours of economics courses, have attained a 3.0 GPA or better in those economics courses, and have an overall 3.0 GPA.
