• Jean Carol Fryman Criswell, 77

    Jean Carol Fryman Criswell, 77, of Frankfort, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at Taylor Manor Nursing Home in Versailles.
    She was born Sept. 30, 1934 in Harrison County, Ky., a daughter of the late John T. and Mary Edna Landrum Fryman.
    She was a member of Curry United Methodist Church, attended the First United Methodist Church of Frankfort, and was a member of the Kentucky Historical Society and the Ladies Church Circle. She was a retired accountant for the Kentucky State Historical Society.

  • Curtis Clay Becker, 49

    Curtis Clay Becker, 49, Cynthiana, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 in Harrison County.
    He was the son of Jacob Becker of Jasper, Tenn. and Beatrice Boone Becker of Decatur, Ohio.
    Survivors include: his wife, Joyce Crites Becker; and two daughters, Katrina Dawn Lamb and Raceane Margaret Becker, both of Cynthiana.
    A memorial service will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Ware Funeral Home.

  • Leroy Allen Jones Jr., 83

    Leroy Allen Jones Jr., 83, widower of Wanda Reed Jones, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at his son’s home.
    He was born Feb. 19, 1928 in Harrison County to the late Clara Bell Jones and Leroy A. Jones Sr. He was a World War II Army veteran, retired co-owner of Vermeer of Indiana, former employee of the Marathon Station in Sadieville, and was a member of Connersville Christian Church in Harrison County.

  • David Lee Smith, 65

    David Lee Smith, 65, Crayton Road, Carlisle, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at his residence.
    He was born in Harrison County, Sept. 25, 1946, to the late Roy Thomas Smith and Bessie Cook Smith Tapp. He was a former Ladish employee, farmer, carpenter, a Vietnam Army veteran, member of Rose Hill United Methodist Church and American Legion and chairman of the Nicholas County Fire Department board of directors.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse Curtis Smith and a sister, Nancy Louise Smith.

  • David E. Curtis, 60

    David E. Curtis, 60, Mt. Olivet, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at his residence.
    He was born in Harrison County, Sept. 28, 1951 to the late, James E. and Margie Woodward Curtis. He was an avid cattle producer, a retired inspector for the Department of Agricultural and a member of Kentontown Christian Church.
    He was preceded in death by his special aunt, Bea Ashcraft.

  • Joseph B. Hudgins, 80

    Joseph B. Hudgins, 80, Somerset, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.
    He was born in Scott County, July 3, 1931 to the late Ruben and Mary Margaret Herrington Hudgins. He was a laborer in manufacturing, farmer, United States Army Korean War veteran and was a former participating Catholic and presently attended Trinity Fellowship in Somerset.
    He was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Tom and Charlie and six sisters, Ruby, Mary, Helen, Judy Ellen, Joyce and Mary Alice.

  • Raymond McDowell, 90

    Raymond McDowell, 90, of Dayton, Ohio, died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012.
    He was the son of the late Roscoe and Childress Payner McDowell.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Dolle McDowell.
    Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. at Robertson County Funeral Home by Pastor Tim Buttrey with visitation at 1 p.m.  Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

  • Dolores Ann King Hudgins, 67

    Dolores Ann King Hudgins, 67, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
    She was born in Bracken County, Ky., Sept. 1, 1944, to the late Paul Edward and Genevieve (Jennie) Browning King. She was a devoted wife and loving mother.  Her children came first in her life and she would buy clothes and things for them before buying things for herself and was a member of Oakland Christian Church.
    Her son Troy David Hudgins, brother and sister, Terry Joe King and Pauline Carol King preceded her in death.

  • Alice Beckett Patrick, 97

    Alice Beckett Patrick, 97, of Lexington, Ky., died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012.
    She was born July 10, 1914 in Harrison County, Ky., a daughter of the late Lewis Samuel and Lelah King Beckett. She was a homemaker and a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.
    She was preceded in death by her husband George Willis Patrick, and two sisters, Irene Davis and Gertrude Patrick.

  • Mary Frances ‘Frankie’ North White, 76

    Mary Frances ‘Frankie’ North White, 76, of Cynthiana, died Friday Jan. 27, 2012.
    She was a daughter of the late William and Mary Kathern Florence North.
    Survivors include: her husband, Irvine White; and her son, Bill White.
    Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 31 at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Mike Frye. Burial was in Battle Grove Cemetery.
