As the flu season soon begins, seasonal flu vaccines are hard to find.

“Suppliers are not guaranteeing a date on when they can get us more vaccines,” said Crystal Caudill, WEDCO Public Health Director.

While flu clinics and appointments have been scheduled at the health department throughout the month of October, Caudill said there is a chance flu shots will run out before the appointments.

“There is no guarantee,” Caudill said Tuesday afternoon.

Caudill said the health department is only giving vaccines to those people with appointments.

“Our goal is to get as many people vaccinated as possible,” she said. “We will run the clinics until we run out.”

Caudill said several clinic days have been scheduled for October, however one clinic day has already been cancelled due to the shortage of vaccines.

“It’s a numbers game at this point,” Caudill said.
