The Harrison County Fillies bowling team won the Region 7 for the second straight year and will bowl in the State Tournament this Thursday and Friday, Feb. 7-8.  Harrison County bowling also has three individuals and one Unified pair competing in the State Tournament.
The Unified pair bowls this Thursday in action at the Executive Strike and Spare in Louisville.  Special athlete Peyton Boisseau and his partner Jacob Moore will represent Harrison County in the Unified competition after a second place finish in the Region 7 contest.
In the team competition, the top two finishers in Region 7 advanced to the state competition.  The Fillies won the region and the Breds finished third in what Coach Dennis Hyatt called a really good effort.
The Fillies team consists of Autumn Burgan, Faith Fryman, Katie Palmer, Alexis Perkins, Gracie Wyatt, Alexys Switzer, Josie Vaughn and Brooklyn Fryman.  Coaches include head coach Dennis Hyatt and assistants Kent Burgan and Gary Harney.
In order to qualify as an individual, the bowlers had to finish in the top four in singles.  The Fillies have two that were in the top four in Region 7.  Josie Vaughn finished second and Brooklyn Fryman was third in the competition at Southland Lanes in Lexington on Sunday and Monday.  Trey Beckelhimer was fourth for the Breds and will advance to Louisville for the state championship.
