THURSDAY, June 26
Weird Science Lab.
The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library science lab will be held Thursday, June 26 at 2 p.m. for grades 6th-12th. Must pre-register for the program.
Historical Book Group. Thursday, June 26 at 4:30 p.m. The book for discussion will be Blood and Thunder by Hampton Sides.
Women’s Book Group. Thursday, June 26 at 6 p.m. The book for discussion will be The American Heiress by Daisy Goodwin.

FRIDAY, June 27
Chamber’s Concert Series will be back rocking East Pike Street this Friday night between 7-9 p.m. Many Chamber members will be on site selling food and drinks. Don’t forget lawn chairs. For more information call 234-5236. Due to last week’s rain, the band Great Shoes will be rescheduled for later in the summer.
Summer Reading Bookstore. Friday, June 27, Saturday, June 28, Saturday, July 5 from 10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookstore will be open- where you will be able to turn in your reading logs/reviews.
Library Bookmobile. Friday, June 27 at 2:30 p.m., the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be presenting a program at the Lion’s Club in Berry. All ages are welcome.

SATURDAY, June 28
CHS Alumni Banquet.
The Cynthiana High School Alumni Banquet will be held Saturday, June 28 at The Prizing House, Church Street. Tickets are available at Biancke’s, Cynthiana-Harrison County Museum, Farmer’s Bank on US 27 South, and Ewalts Jewelry. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30.

MONDAY, June 30
Water Aerobics.
A Water Aerobics class will be held June 30-Sept. 1 at the Cynthiana Country Club pool from 9-10 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Fees for the class are $50 plus $1 per class attended. The $50 fee is waived if the participant is a full or limited member of the Cynthiana Country Club. Registration will be before class on June 30. The Harrison County Educational Foundation will be accepting applications for student loans for the Fall 2014 semester until July 1, 2014. Applications may be picked up at the high school or at the Licking Valley Campus of Maysville Community College.  May also e-mail us at harrisoncoedfound@hotmail.com for an application.

The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library program will be held Wednesday, July 2 at 10 a.m. for kindergarten through 5th grade. Please pre-register.

Summer Reading Registration for all ages is under way. Stop by the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library to pick up reading log and register for the cool programs lined up this summer.
Friday Night Flix. Every Friday night in June at Flat Runs Veterans Park. Presented by Living Free Community. Activities begin at 7 p.m. and movie at dusk. Watch a family movie under the stars. Drug free zone. Bring own chairs and blankets. Concession available.
Cedar Ridge Health Campus Family Yard Sale will be held Thursday, July 3 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Will be selling ice cream cones and baked goods. All proceeds benefit Journey Medical Missions.
Health Department Closed July 4. The Harrison County Health Department will be close Friday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will be closed Friday, July 4 in observance of the holiday. Will reopen on Saturday, July 5 at 9 a.m.
Fabulous Fourth Celebration will be held Friday, July 4 at Flat Run Veteran’s Park. Admission is $5 per vehicle. Gates open at 6 p.m. Music by Jo Jo Gunn, food and fun. Flag raising ceremony at 8 p.m., fireworks at dusk. (Rain date is Saturday, July 5). Presented by the Cynthiana Rotary Club.
Harrison County Fair Sing. Anyone wanting to participate in this year’s fair sing (Christian, Gospel, Bluegrass), on Sunday, July 6 at 6:30 p.m. contact Dawn Arnold at 588-0339.
Public Library Program. A Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library program will be held Monday, July 7 at Noon at River Road Ball Park.
L.I.T. Program. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library L.I.T. (Leaders In Training) program for library teen volunteers will be held Tuesday, July 8 at 2 p.m.
Cynthiana City Commission will meet Tuesday, July 8, 5:30 p.m., upstairs City Hall in the commissioners’ room. The meetings are open to the public.
Fiscal Court of Harrison County will meet Tuesday, July 8, 5:30 p.m., meeting room at the Harrison County Sheriff’s building (former KU building). The meetings are open to the public.
Northside Council. The Northside Site Based Council will hold a special meeting Wednesday, July 9 at 9:30 a.m. in the school library. The public is invited to attend.
Cow Pie Bingo. Wednesday, July 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Fairgrounds at the demo derby track. Tickets are $5 or 5 for $20 and are available at Biancke’s, Harrison Vet Clinic, Cynthiana Vision Center, Brooks Animal Clinic, Animal House and prior to event at the fair. The event is sponsored by the Humane Society of Harrison County. All proceeds to help animals in Harrison County.
Berry City Commission will meet Thursday, July 10 at 7 p.m., at Berry City Hall. The meetings are open to the public.
Exploring the Writer’s Craft. July 12 at 8:30 a.m. at Jefferson Community and Technical College, 505 Buffalo Run Rd., Shepherdsville, Ky. All writers (male and female), in all genres, across the region, are invited to the third annual writing workshop organized by Women Who Write. Featured speakers include prolific Chicago novelist and NYT bestselling biographer Alanna Nash, plus others.

Free Child Development Program. If 51% of your income is from agricultural work, may be eligible for free child care services (age 6 weeks to 5 years old). Contact Community Action Council at 234-2121 or stop by the center located at 217 Old Lair Rd., Cynthiana. Items need to complete application are proof of birth, immunization record, past 12 months of income and documentation indicating 51% of income is in agriculture work.
Narcotics Anonymous meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30-8:30 p.m.; and Saturdays from 6-7 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. at 312 W. Pleasant in the annex (at the rear of the church).
