    The Harrison County track team, with only six participants, had a good day Saturday at the Mason County indoor track facility.  
    The Fillies finished 15th scoring eight points and the Thorobreds were tied for 19th in the boys’ competition.  Teams came from Ohio, Tennessee and Kentucky to compete in the Mason County meet.

  • Track team has success at Mason...

    The Harrison County track team participated in an All-Comers Meet, Saturday, Feb. 11, at Mason County’s indoor track facility.  
    Coach Danny Simpson took some Fillies runners and field event participants as well as Jon Phillips of the Thorobreds team.  
    Simpson noted that due to the mild winter more teams are prepared and are participating in indoor track this season.

    Coach Neil Furnish and his Harrison County coaching staff held the annual Harrison County football banquet Sunday, February 5th at the Harrison County Fieldhouse.

    The Harrison County Fillies bowling team went all the way to the championship game Friday in the State Tournament before dropping a five game match to Central Hardin.  
    The Fillies lost the first two games and could have folded but instead came back to win the next two forcing the fifth and deciding game.

    The Harrison County Middle School Volleyball team won the Bluegrass Conference regular season title Friday, Feb. 3rd by defeating Scott County 14-21, 21-13, and 15-12 to finish with a 21-3 regular season record.  
    This put them in the conference tournament as the number one seed with Woodford County, Elkhorn and McNabb middle schools.

    Westside Elementary School finished third out of ten elementary schools in the 2017 KASP Region 8 Tournament, Saturday, Feb. 11, with a score of 2910.  
    Fifth-grader Taylor Conway led the way with a score of 274 which was the best among the 164 boys who shot in the elementary division.  
    Katlyn Lewis was next for Westside with a score of 264, which was second best in the elementary girls’ division’s 114 shooters.
