  • Super Bowl match-up is set, I’m...

Football ended Sunday night for the year, for me.  The season ends when my teams are done playing so when the Steelers lost to New England in the final game of the day on Sunday, football was over.
I do have a mild interest in the Atlanta Falcons because there is a former player from IU playing for them but that won’t be enough for me to watch, more than likely.
For one thing, the game takes entirely too long with all of the commercials, though in many years the commercials have been better than the game itself.

After beating Robertson County on Wednesday and losing to Bracken County and Campbell County, Harrison County coach Kim Furnish knows that there is still a lot to do for her Fillies.
Monday evening following a tough 44-33 loss at home to Campbell County, Furnish was upbeat and proud yet not nearly satisfied.

Playing on back-to-back nights, the Harrison County Thorobreds bounced back from a sound defeat at the hands of Paris on Friday night to upset Bracken County on the Hilltop Saturday night.
The Greyhounds took the Breds to task, in Paris on Friday, 89-58, before the Breds won over the Polar Bears 55-52 on Saturday.  The win over Bracken County avenged an earlier 69-57 loss in the Mike Murphy Classic at Mason County.

The Harrison County wrestling team defeated Bourbon County in a Senior Night dual on the Hilltop.  This was the opener of a wrestling/basketball doubleheader.
Harrison County outlasted Bourbon County 45-34 in a match that HCHS coach Luke Tucker said, “was much closer than we thought it would be.”
The big match of the night was Brent Hudgins’ pin of Sheridan Willoughby according to Coach Luke Tucker.

The Harrison County Thorobreds record fell to 3-15 Monday night as they lost a nail biter to Bishop Brossart 61-60 on the Hilltop.
The loss wrapped up a busy weekend where the Breds were on the road at Bourbon County and then in Frankfort to play North Oldham on Saturday.
Friday night saw Harrison County fall behind early, as has been the case in many of the Thorobreds ball games.

Except for a brief stretch in the fourth quarter at Bourbon County, Friday, the Harrison County Fillies have hit a field goal dry spell.
After shooting 20 percent  from the field Friday night in Paris the Fillies followed up with a 21 percent effort Monday in Morehead.
For the two games Harrison County, has made 24 of 117 tries from the field.  Needless to say, they have come out on the short end of the two game results.
