Harrison County wrestling Coach Luke Tucker doesn’t believe in building a record against easy competition.  This was evident Saturday as the Thorobreds played host to 12 outstanding wrestling teams in the annual Rumble on the Hilltop.
Tucker’s Thorobreds won the event with 165 points followed closely by Scott High and Montgomery County.

Coach Larry Kendall called time out with less than seven minutes left in the contest trailing 62-40 to Scott High’s Eagles.
“I told the boys that we had two ways to go,” he said. “We can either keep playing like we are and get blown out or play harder and smarter and get back into the game. It is up to you.”

Harrison County entered two elementary teams, a middle school team and a high school team in the Frankfort Archery Classic held at Western Hills High School Saturday.
The Southside and Westside Elementary Schools students shot together as one team and the Northside and Eastside students formed the other elementary team for Harrison County.

  • Veteran’s Flat Run Park: What...

There are many questions surrounding Flat Run Veterans’ Park and the plans to move forward with recreation there.
I have purposely avoided writing anything but today I need to express some of my opinions.
I do not know exactly when the city and county went together to purchase the land for the park, which I thought and still do think was a good idea.  The citizens of Harrison County need more area with more diverse activities than is provided by River Road, The Rev. Ross Park or the park behind Eastside Pharmacy on East Pleasant.
