Despite losing four wrestlers from last year’s team who either placed, or were a couple of matches away from placing, in the state meet, Coach Luke Tucker believes his team will be in the hunt for the Region 8 title.
“Johnson Central only graduated one so they have to be the favorite but we aren’t conceding anything,” Tucker said.  “We have a really good senior class and a good group of sophomores who can bring us closer to them if we perform.”

  • Some traditions and holiday...

Saturday evening, we went to the second home game for the NKU Lady Norse coached by Camryn Whitaker.
Saturday’s opponent was NAIA Indiana University East of Richmond Indiana.  We took Annie and Gabby so the first part of the trip was spent de-programming them from the “we are IU fans” to this is not the right IU and we are for the white uniformed team.
The setting for the game is great for the whole family with the playground up on the terrace level for the younger ones when the game bores them.

The first three matches of the young middle school volleyball season have seen the Harrison County Fillies jump out to an undefeated season in eighth grade, a 2-1 season in seventh grade and an already improving sixth grade effort.
The sixth grade, coached by first year coach Amy Furnish, has lost one match and tied another to sport an 0-1-1 record.

On Sunday, the girls’ coaches of the 10th Region released the pre-season top 10 players and the top 10 teams as they see them to begin the season.
Harrison County did not fare well in either poll.
The team rankings were a little surprising as defending 10th-Region champ Campbell County was picked fourth by the coaches.
