Friday night was unquestionably Harrison County High School Coach Neil Furnish’s biggest game to date.
Furnish, who was assistant to Bourbon County Coach John Hodge one year ago, took his Thorobreds to Bourbon County and defeated the Colonels 43-36. The game decided which team had a home play off game a week from Friday.

The Lady Camels of Campbell County continued the defense of their 10th Region Soccer title Wednesday as they defeated the Harrison County Fillies 7-0 in Claryville.
The Fillies finished the season with a 10-7 record as Coach Kevin Gaunce’s squad faced a tough schedule in 2015.
The Fillies battled the Lady Camels on an even basis for the first part of the match, with Campbell County scoring its first goal on a corner kick after six minutes had been played.

  • Has HCHS football turned the...

Friday night in Bourbon County, the Breds and Colonels played one of the most exciting high school games I can remember.
The Thorobreds overcame the third largest deficit in school history to come back and win 43-36. The Colonels led by 15 points in the second period before the Breds came back to win.
Last year this game was 49-0 on the Athletic Complex field, which was a really huge disappointment for all concerned on the Harrison County side of the ledger.
    So what has changed?

The Harrison County Fillies won the 38th District Championship last Tuesday and Wednesday by out-scoring their opposition by a 17-2 margin.
While a big margin, it wasn’t all about the offense, according to Coach Kevin Gaunce.
