  • Breds second in Soccer Classic,...

After a bruising 1-0 defeat at the hands, head and feet of Bishop Brossart on Thursday night, the Harrison County Thorobreds returned the 1-nil favor as they defeated Campbell County in the final game of the Thorobreds Classic Saturday at LeBus Field.
The match was full of ups and downs as the emotions and effort of the players on both teams seemed to go from high to low with little or no warning.
Because of the roller coaster-type effort, the Breds won by the close one-goal margin though they dominated play through out the match.

  • Fillies trounce Dayton, lose a...

The Harrison County Fillies soccer team wrapped up the first win of the season as they pounded Dayton, 8-0, Wednesday night at LeBus Field.
The match that was originally scheduled to be hosted by the northern Kentucky school was moved to LeBus Field because the Lady Devils’ field is not yet ready for play.
Sophomore Hannah Thomas and junior Haley Carr each had two goals for the Fillies in the match that was never close.

  • Golfers working hard

The Harrison County High School golf teams are busy working on their game and playing against some tough region competition.
On Wednesday the Fillies traveled to the Pendleton County Country Club to face the Lady Wildcat golfers.
Sarah Holland again led the Fillies as the seventh grader shot a 55. Morgan Grose was the next top scorer as she and fellow freshman, Sarah Durbin, shot a 59 and a 61 while sophomore Morgan Nelly finished the scoring with a 69.
The Lady Wildcats bested the Fillies 187 to 242 in this nine-hole battle.

  • Volleyball Fillies roll over...

The Harrison County Volleyball Fillies won an easy home victory over Madison Southern’s Eagles, 25-6 and 25-10, on Thursday evening.
“We played well,” briefly stated Coach Bill Faulkner.  “The girls are continuing to improve on their passing and setting the ball for some kills.”
Junior Jordan Doram had nine kills to lead the Fillies with fellow juniors Samantha Adkins and Ellie McLaren chipping in with four kills each.
Senior setter Alyssa Campbell had a nice game with 18 assists.

  • Hometown Pharmacy Thorobred Bowl...

The Jim Carr era of Harrison County football did not start the way it was planned or desired by the Harrison County High School Thorobreds.
The inability to stop Sheldon Clark on third and fourth down led to a 28-13 defeat for the Breds in the second Hometown Pharmacy Thorobred Bowl.
The Thorobreds took the opening kick off and marched down the field from their own 40 to the Sheldon Clark 31 before turning the ball over on downs.
