    Thorobred Golf Scramble is Saturday

    Harrison County High School varsity cheerleaders are hosting a golf scramble to raise money for new uniforms and equipment. The event will be held at Houston Oaks Golf Course in Paris on Saturday, June 14. There will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The cost is $50 a person or $200 per team. Dinner will be provided.

    Casey Sledd and Cameron White went four for four and Ian Boland and Austin Hisle were three for three as the Cardinals defeated the Dodgers, 21-9, in Saturday afternoon Little League play.  

  • Fillies shutout Bracken Co. 3-0...

    The Harrison County Fillies took advantage of a sparkling pitching performance by seventh grader Bailey Conley and defeated the Bracken County Lady Bears 3-0 in the last quarter final game of the 10th Region Tournament Monday evening.   
    Nicholas County, George Rogers Clark and Bourbon County had already advanced by winning earlier games so the Fillies filled the final spot for the semi finals Tuesday at Scott High’s state of the art softball stadium.

  • Breds beat St. Pat 18-1, lose...

    Harrison County High School’s Thorobreds began the defense of the 10th Region baseball crown with an 18-1 defeat of the Saints of St. Patrick Monday morning, but lost a heartbreaker to Scott High’s Eagles, 4-3, Tuesday to end the season 25-12.
      The 3-15 Saints were no match for the Breds though they did take a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Harrison County starter Nathan Fryman struggled mightily, walking the first batter and committing two errors before Coach Mac Whitaker replaced him with senior Christian Persinger after four batters.  

  • Cook leads Fillies to 12th in...

    Junior Kassidy Cook took two second place finishes and senior Caylin Mattox scored fifth and sixth places to score 23 points for Harrison County in the KHSAA AA State Track Meet held Friday at the University of Kentucky.  
    On a bright, sunny, warm day, Cook ran a personal best time in the 100M hurdles to finish second and Mattox was sixth in the event.  
    Cook’s time of :15.33 is second to Katelyn Gray’s :14.92 in Harrison County High School history.  

  • Pirates clip Cardinals in Little...

    The Cardinals jumped out to an early two-run lead Thursday night against the league-leading Pirates but could not hold on as they lost a 6-4 decision on Field Three.
    The Cardinals’ Casey Sledd opened the game with a single advanced to second by a Tanner Eckler sacrifice before scoring on an Ian Boland hit past the shortstop.  
    Boland then came around to score after Chandler Power reached on an error and his brother Corbin grounded out.
