Several Harrison County High School seniors will be honored tonight prior to tipoff when Harrison County takes on Montgomery County in boys basketball action.

Basketball players, cheerleaders and dance team members will all be recognized prior to the game tonight.

The cheerleaders who will be recognized include Johnna Carey, Bonnie Jo Dailey, Brooke Kendall, Jesse Kendall and Jan Taylor Wilson.

The Thorobred players that will be playing their last regular season game on the Hilltop include Eric Case, Fonze Custard, Ryan Puckett and John Michael Reitz.

The Harrison County Thorobreds notched their biggest win of the regular season on Tuesday night as they defeated visiting West Jessamine, 81-72.

In a fast-paced game, Harrison County took the lead for good in the second quarter, led by as many as 15 points in the fourth quarter and held on to escape with the win over the 12th Region’s top-ranked team.

Breds, Fillies falter on the lanes

The Harrison County Bowling Team dropped a pair of matches to visiting Clark County on Sunday at Galactic Alley.

The Breds won the first two games of their match with the Cards, but dropped the next four, along with a fifth point for total pins.

Zach Schneider rolled a 210 and Zack Gaunce had 188 as HCHS won that first game, 563-548, then Justin Fryman had 203 and Nick Marcum rolled 200 in the second game win, 579-578.

It was all downhill from there for the Breds however, as the visitors won the last four points.

The pairings for the 38th District Boys and Girls Basketball Tournaments were determined last Wednesday at a meeting held at the Harrison County Community Education Center.

For the fifth straight year, HCHS will host both tournaments. This year, the format will have the boys playing the first game on the first two nights of the tournament, with the four girls teams playing the two nightcap contests.
