Despite giving up 24 points due to not having a wrestler in four weight classes, the Harrison County Thorobreds finished sixth of 16 teams at Louisville Central Saturday.
“We did well considering we gave up the four classes,” said Coach Luke Tucker. “That spots the others points that we have to overcome.”
Tucker was especially happy with the efforts of Michael Mattox, Chase Highlander, Nathan Lopez, Clay Arthur, Kellon Williams, and Dominic Walker.

Some years, beating Augusta High School in basketball wasn’t such a big deal, but lately, under Coach Jason Hinson, the Panthers are a force to be reckoned with in 10th Region basketball.
That fact makes the Harrison County Thorobreds’ 75-68 win over Augusta Saturday night in the third place game of the Mike Murphy Classic even more important.
The way the Thorobreds accomplished the feat was also important as they played more as a team with a 32-minute effort.

West Jessamine edged both the Fillies and Thorobreds bowling teams to win the six-team tournament held in Danville last Saturday.
The tournament was sponsored by the Boyle County Rebel teams, who also competed with two teams.
The other participants along with Harrison County,  West Jessamine and Boyle County were Montgomery County and East Jessamine.
The Fillies averaged 167 per game, which is very good as their total pin count was 3,665 for the 22 baker games.

  • Christmas gifts for NFL teams

After a Sunday afternoon of shopping with my four grandsons I am really in the Christmas spirit. So much so that for the next two weeks I will be making Christmas wishes for the NFL and College football and basketball teams.
Many teams are in need of a healthy quarterback while a few have had some good play from back ups most have not which makes the wish list quarterback heavy.
Strangely enough one of the injured quarterbacks whose back up played the best was Chicago’s Jay Cutler who hails from Santa Claus, Ind.
