  • Soccer Breds edge Wildcats 3-2

Last Thursday the Harrison County soccer Breds traveled to take on the Pendleton County Wildcats in Falmouth.
Coach Nick Hill was concerned more than usual before the match as he was without both junior Ben Anness and senior Josh Young and the Wildcats have been a nemesis for the past few years.
The Breds started off slowly and were a goal down before Anthony Shirley took a Kyle Foster pass and nailed it to the back of the net to tie at one each.

  • Fillies maintain even record...

Last Wednesday the Harrison County Fillies soccer team played host to one of the top teams in the region, George Rogers Clark, and were defeated by a 4-0 score.
The match was not as one sided as the score would indicate, but again the Fillies could not connect on good scoring opportunities.  Combine that with the fact that three of the four GRC goals were of the flukiest nature and the match is a tight, competitive battle.

  • Fillies volleyball wins, loses...

The Harrison County volleyball team ushered the last week of the regular season in last week by playing two regular season games and hosting the 12-team Fillies Fling Tournament on Saturday.
On Thursday, Coach Bill Faulkner’s Fillies improved their sparkling season record to 21-6 when they traveled to Berea and defeated the Madison Southern Lady Eagles by a 2-1 (23-25), (25-9), 25-18) score.
This defeat dropped the home squad to 11-20 for the season.

  • Cross country teams win trophies...

It was cold and windy Saturday in Frankfort but that is apparently the weather the Harrison County Cross Country teams like as the varsity girls and boys each brought home trophies and a bevy of medals from the Capital View Classic.
The race was run at the Archives, which is a difficult, hilly course. Still, the Harrison County contingent including the middle school runners had some very good times.
The Fillies finished second as a team in the competition as Franklin County won the team event.
