Coach Kevin Gaunce’s undefeated Harrison County Middle School Fillies soccer team ran into an extremely tough foe last Tuesday.
The 3-0 Bourbon County Middle School Lady Colonels are always a tough opponent especially on their home turf.  Tuesday’s match was no exception but the Fillies came out on top, 1-0, in a physical, hard-fought match.

  • Intramurals, good for basketball

When I was in the grades of middle school, we only played teams in basketball that were in neighboring counties and in some years, only those immediately across the river in Hancock County.
Basketball was the only sport where there was much travel. There were six elementary schools that were grade one through eight in Perry County, Indiana. We spent much of the time playing against the county schools. Between Hancock County’s one elementary and a couple in Spencer County, Indiana, as well as our own schools, we played 16 games.
