    The University of Michigan has many strong points including a fine law school.  But, in my memory, it has been a failure in the sporting world.  
    Who can forget Chris Webber calling time out in the NCAA Final Four when the Wolverines were out of timeouts? What major college team or high school team does that?
    Now the latest embarrassment, losing to South Carolina in the Outback Bowl.

    The Harrison County Fillies improved to 10-3 last week with three good performances in the Mingua Beef Jerky Holiday Classic at Bourbon County High School.  
    Wednesday the Fillies played the third game of the first day matched up with Sayre’s Lady Spartans fresh from a successful tournament in Savannah Georgia.

  • Bowling team wins co-ed match...

    A Saturday match-up at Galactic Alley wrapped up 2017 for the Harrison County bowling team in a positive way.
    Playing a co-ed match with Bourbon County the Harrison County team took five of seven points to win easily.  

  • Breathitt County games moved to...

    The Harrison County Thorobreds game with Breathitt County in Jackson, that was scheduled for Tuesday night as been rescheduled. Due to no school in Harrison County on Tuesday the game was moved to Saturday, Feb. 10. There will be a freshman, junior varsity, varsity tripleheader on this date. The freshman game is scheduled for 3 p.m., junior varsity at 4 p.m. and the varsity match up at 5 p.m.

    The Harrison County Thorobreds finished the JBR/Straight Edge Construction Holiday Tournament in Brooksville with two wins after losing a tough 69-67 verdict to Sayre in the tournament opener Wednesday. Sayre finished the tournament as champions with a 7-5 record.
    Harrison County struggled out of the gate against the Spartans and trailed 18-13 at the end of one period.  Sophomore guard Trey Atkins led Sayre with two three point shots in the opening stanza.

    The Harrison County Thorobreds continued to play improved basketball as they defeated Western Hills 66-59 Friday and then lost to LaRue County 55-36 in Saturday’s championship of the Huck Turner/Southern States Classic played on the Hilltop.
