I was recently reading all of the letters that were written to your paper regarding the story condemning William Chambers on the day of his death. I totally agree with everyone on this matter and I was reminded of something that happened to me two years ago. We requested for you to write about it in your paper and you refused to for fear that you would be sued for printing it.

The No. 1-ranked Central Hardin Bruins used a big third inning and a big seventh to score six times and subdue the Harrison County Thorobreds 6-1 in the quarterfinals at Whitaker Bank Park Thursday in the KHSAA State Finals.  

Kamryn Rae Burns

Kamryn Rae Burns was born to Justin and Kristin Burns of Cynthiana on April 24, 2013 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
She weighed 6 lbs. 9 oz. and is welcomed by her brother Caleb Burns and sister Kendyl Burns.
Maternal grandparents are Johnny and Kitty Curtis of Cynthiana; maternal great-grandparents are the late William and Thaddues Brown of Cynthiana, and the late Clarence and Christia Curtis of Cynthiana.

Cynthiana High School Day is...

Mayor Steve Moses proclaimed Saturday, June 22, as Cynthiana High School Day. To celebrate this proclamation, alumni are invited to visit Biancke’s, home of CHS class composite pictures and other memorabilia, and enjoy a Peggy Benton.

Stroll Main and Pike Streets to view business windows decorated with CHS items and pictures from days gone by.

Practicing for heaven

Generally when my friend Tara and I get together food is both talked about and consumed.
I taught her my secret to amazing stir-fry vegetables (season them with onion powder and dried red chili flakes), and she introduced me to pad thai and satay at a Thai restaurant.
Last Saturday, to celebrate her birthday, she and I and our husbands went to a seafood, prime rib and sushi buffet where we, as always, both talked about and consumed incredibly delicious food.

Berry City Commission will meet Thursday, June 13 at 7 p.m., at Berry City Hall. The meetings are open to the public.
FRIDAY, June 14
Relay for Life will be held Friday beginning at 7 p.m. and continuing to 7 a.m. Saturday morning. Gates will open at Ingles  Stadium at 5 p.m. New survivor registration will begin at 6 p.m. The welcome from the co-chairs will be held at 7 p.m.

Harrison County Youth Football needs volunteer coaches

The Harrison County Youth Football Association is gearing up for its 2013 football season. The HCYFA s actively searching for coaches for all age groups (flag, lower and upper tackle division). All positions are available. Any coach who has volunteered in the past must re-apply and be approved by the HCYFA Baord.

Coaches Danny Simpson and Robert Walker held the annual post season awards program Saturday, June 1, at the Extension Office.  
Jessica Alas, Elizabeth Boyers, Stephanie Buck, Bailey Caudill and Jenna Nunnelley were presented with senior awards by Coach Simpson.  

Fillies complete youth camp,...

“This was by far the largest turnout for a camp in my time as coach,” said Coach Kim Furnish. “I am very pleased that our numbers continue to grow.”  
This statement was made after 45 girls attended the Fillies Basketball Camp held last week Wednesday through Friday.  
This camp was different as each day featured some unique type of instruction.  
Coach Jeff Kinney was Thursday’s main instructor as he taught team-specific drills to the campers.
