Four men face deportation...

 

A Sunday afternoon wreck claimed the life of one man and sent four others to jail.

Alfonso Perez Esperon, 37, was pronounced dead on the scene following a wreck on KY 36 approximately six miles west of Cynthiana.

New York couple bringing 20 jobs...

A new manufacturing operation will be locating in Harrison County and bringing with it employment opportunities for about 20 positions.

Cynthiana Mayor Steve Moses announced at Tuesday’s city commission meeting that Bay Horse Innovations Inc. has purchased 5.9 acres in the Harrison County Business Park.

Homemaker News

The Barlow Homemaker Club was named for former County Extension Agent, Wanda Barlow. There are 12 members and they have been very active during the 2012-2013 calendar year.
In October 2012, a Halloween costume party was held at the home of Tammy Switzer. The November Thanksgiving meal was hosted by Judy Williams at the new airport facility. A Christmas party was hosted by Kathy Brooks and Wanda Gaunce hosted a Valentine party. In March a white elephant auction was held, and plans are underway for a June outing.

Arrests, Citations, Warnings
April 25 -- Harley P. Perry, 30, was issued a citation for speeding on US Hwy. 62 W and was also arrested for no operators/Moped license.
April 26 -- Jeffrey T. Jones, 26, was arrested in Madison County on a warrant for false statement to to receive benefits over $100.
April 28 -- Jeffrey Mosley, 23, was arrested on Court Street, Harrison County, on warrants for assault fourth degree (domestic violence) no visible injury and sexual misconduct.

Mayor confronts commissioner...

Following a brief-but-heated exchange at Tuesday’s Cynthiana City Commission, a $12,044.67 contribution was approved for Parks and Recreation.

When Finance Commissioner Billy Grayson presented payables for approval, Mayor Steve Moses questioned the payment to Harrison County Fiscal Court that would go to Parks and Rec.

For at least the past seven years, the Harrison County Commission on Aging’s Senior Citizen Center has operated at a deficit which lead to a city and county bailout of delinquent payroll taxes owed the Internal Revenue Service.

Hehr-Kearns exchange vows in...

Caroline Grace Hehr and Matthew Jared Kearns were married on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Cynthiana, Ky. The Rev. Warren French officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents, and escorted by her father, wore a strapless gown of ivory satin embellished with covered buttons, crystals and beading. Her gown featured a chapel-length train. She wore a fingertip-length veil that tapered to a V in the back.

Traffic Cases
The following information from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office indicates drivers and/or owners whose vehicles were involved in accidents.

April 27 – At 4 p.m., a non-injury accident was reported on KY 1842 six miles from town. Lucas Cummings was attempting to pass Tara Hardin on KY 1842 in a no passing zone and side swiped her.
