Kids College returns for 21st year

It’s back. For the 21st year, Kid’s College is being prepared to give young students the opportunity to explore what ‘big time’ college students are studying. 

Memorial fish fry to honor Chief Charles Carson Jr. is Friday

The Harrison County firefighters’ Association will be hosting a memorial fish fry on Friday, June 14, beginning at 10:30 a.m. for the late Charles Carson Jr., who served as fire chief for the Harrison County Volunteer Fire Department and the Harrison County Fire Taxing District.

Breds have successful basketball camp

The Harrison County basketball Thorobreds spent the majority of last week on the road in three Scott County gyms playing basketball in the Georgetown College Summer Camp.

Harrison County’s Thorobreds advanced to the Elite Eight Tuesday night with a 4-1 over Ryle High School’s Raiders.  

Local Soldier Support Group has care packages ready to ship overseas

Local agencies have been hard at work to ensure the 149 Vertical Engineering company feels right at home in Afghanistan.
In May, the Harrison County Soldier Support Group began requesting items for the 149th Vertical Engineering Company based out of the Cynthiana National Guard.
Through the help and support from local businesses and citizens, items have been collected for the military care packages to be shipped to Afghanistan in the next few weeks.
Over 1,000 items have been collected for the troops so far. However, the drive will not end just yet.

Breds Soccer Camp
Coach Nick Hill announces his annual Breds Soccer Camp will be held June 11-13, from 9-11 a.m., each day at Lebus Soccer Field. The camp is open to boys and girls in Grades K-8. Camp registration forms are available at all Harrison County Elementary Schools.  
Early registration is encouraged, but walk-up registration will be available on the first day of camp. If you have any questions or concerns contact Coach Hill at 859-588-0773.
