A well-known Cynthiana homeless man died Wednesday morning after being struck by a truck on Main Street Tuesday night.

As of 11 a.m. Tuesday, a Harrison County man is fighting for his life after a Monday evening crash in Lexington.
William Chambers, 23, is listed in critical condition at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, according to hospital officials.
Chambers was involved in a motorcycle crash about 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Motorists who refuse to wear their seat belts – beware. 

The Cynthiana Police Department is joining forces with the Kentucky State Police in the 2013 national “Click It or Ticket” Memorial Day seat belt enforcement mobilization, which began May 20 and will continue through June 2. The purpose is to help save lives by cracking down on those who don’t buckle up. 

The Cynthiana Chapter of the DAR met at the home of Kay Thomas on May 11.
Melinda Rawlings, Regent, called the meeting to order and welcomed guests Betty Marshall and Donna Pope.
The DAR Ritual, Pledge of Allegiance, and the American’s Creed were recited followed by singing of the Star Spangled Banner.
In lieu of the President General’s message and the Conservation Minute, Rawlings discussed a disease among bats known as the ‘white nosed bats.’ The National Defense message was about a World War II Pulaski reunion.
