While the skill and love of local Project Linus quilters are free, the materials they use to give warm smiles to children in need are typically not. To help support the efforts of the North Central Kentucky Chapter of Project Linus, the chapter is holding a yard sale.
As part of the Kentucky State Nature Preserve’s 40th anniversary celebration, there will be a special plaque dedication in Harrison County this Saturday, July 23 at 11 a.m. The plaque commemorates the donation of the 110-acre Quiet Trails Nature Preserve to the state by Bill and Martha Wiglesworth in 1991.
The plaque unveiling will take place at Quiet Trails, located on Pugh’s Ferry Road. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Despite several last-minute pleas from Harrison County outsiders, the Harrison County Fiscal Court voted 5-2 on Tuesday night to not convene a joint meeting with the Cynthiana City Commission, effectively ending the debate on the Handy House and setting in motion the impending demolition of the structure.
