The 3M Foundation has donated $1,250 to the American Cancer Foundation in recognition of volunteers Brandy Fizette, Vickie Taylor, Glenna Ward, Bonnie Mitchell and Marcella Jones commitment to the community. The volunteers have donated 25 hours each to Relay for Life.
“3M employees and retirees generously give their time and skills to help improve lives,” said Kimberly Price, vice-president, 3M Community Affairs. “We are pleased to recognize their commitment to their communities.”

Sadly I should not have been shocked by the articles about Obie and William Chambers.
On Aug. 1, 2000 our daughter and Andrea’s sister, Jessica Marie Simpson passed away. Jessica had Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer.
Becky Barnes heard that Make a Wish had given Jessica a Ford Mustang. Someone from the Democrat office called me wanting to do an article about Make a Wish. I informed them that Jessica’s dad, Ed, bought the car. She said that if she could think of anything else to write about she would call.

Ronette Jones has achieved the honor of being named to the Honor Roll at Kentucky Christian University for the 2013 Spring semester. The Honor Roll is granted to full-time students who earn a grade point average of 3.3 to 3.74.
Jones is the child of Paul Ralph Jones and Paulette Jones, both of Cynthiana, and is a 2010 graduate of Jones Home School and majors in worship and Bible at KCU.
