Little League, Pony League to start Saturday
Recreation Director Darrell Baxter is announcing the Little League and the newly formed Pony League will both kick off the season on Saturday, April 19, at noon. Both leagues will play at River Road with the Pony League occupying the big “softball” field and the Little League playing in the two adjacent parks as usual. There are three Pony League teams called Maroon, Gold and White with 38 players signed up to date.
The Harrison County Fillies took advantage of timely hitting, some Fleming County wildness and some good pitching to defeat the Lady Panthers 9-5 in Flemingsburg Tuesday night.
The game was played on a rough infield as the recent rain left many central Kentucky fields water logged.

The Harrison County tennis team played host to Mason County and George Rogers Clark Saturday on the Hilltop.
The Breds lost 1-4 to George Rogers Clark and 1-4 to Mason County as both opponents were veteran experienced teams.
Jacob Markley was the only winner for the Thorobreds defeating Laz Wilkerson in the George Rogers Clark match 6-2, 7-5.
Boston Pergram dropped his match to Colby Becker, 0-6, 0-6, while Matt Seevers lost to Max Halfeb, 2-6, 2-6.
Myiah Love Withrow was born to Mariah Smiley and Michael Withrow of Cynthiana on March 26, 2014 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
