Two new Cynthiana police officers were sworn in at the Tuesday, June 9, meeting of the Cynthiana City Commission. Michael Coppage, a certified police officer from Cynthiana, who is coming back home, repeated the oath of office with City Attorney John Lair. Vance Meighan of Bath County, will be going through extensive training at the police academy at Eastern Kentucky University.
It’s no secret that tobacco has become less in demand in recent years. And its demand continues to fall. This year’s tobacco crop in Harrison County is the smallest crop in terms of acreage in modern times, according to State Rep. Tom McKee.
