Congratulations are in order to Cynthiana and its citizens for organizing and pulling off such a wonderful event to celebrate the success of Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore! The Walking Dead phenomenon has taken the country by storm, and the forethought and planning that went in to Walking Dead Day deserves recognition.

Sometimes words are not able to carry the weight of our emotions.  To simply say thank you to the city of Cynthiana for The Walking Dead Day seems lacking in proper appreciation for all of the hard work and sleepless hours contributed to the planning and execution of such an extraordinary day.  However, simply saying thank you is all we can do.

There’s entirely too much credit to be handed out, to entirely too many people, for the resounding success that was The Walking Dead Day, last Saturday.

So, instead of making the mistake of mentioning anyone’s name, for fear of leaving out someone who is deserving, let’s just say “congratulations” to Cynthiana!

Old Girl, you’re on your way back, if you ever left.

I am writing to congratulate the HCHS graduating class of 1966 on their highly successful 50 year class reunion.

Eighty-four graduates and their guests gathered for dinner at the Prizing House on June 30. About 150 people from near and far away shared memories of school days and informed others of life’s adventures since last they met. It was a great occasion.

I want to encourage other classes to celebrate with reunions.

So here we are in the countdown to The Walking Dead Day.

How exciting for Cynthiana and Harrison County!

If you are reading this, you have seen The Cynthiana Democrat’s souvenir edition.

Always, always after something comes out in print, you either remember something that should have, would have, could have been included or even a mistake that needs clarified.

It’s a great section of which I am very proud and excited for our staff who worked so diligently to make it happen.
