  • Fiscal court vote on Handy House questioned; timing in poor taste

The Harrison County Heritage Council (HCHC), a duly formed non-profit under IRS Section 501(C)(3), would like to express its extreme disappointment in the Veterans Day vote taken by six members of the Harrison County Fiscal Court.

  • Thank you for the privilege to serve

    To the editor:
To the voters of Harrison County, thank you for the opportunity to serve the 1st Magisterial District for the last four years. It has truly been an honor to be associated with the men and women on the fiscal court. The decisions that have been made in that short time will positively affect the county for years to come.

  • Smith thanks voters for support

    To the editor:
I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to the citizens of Cynthiana for their overwhelming support during the recent election.  Thank you for electing me your new mayor.  I truly believe that Cynthiana can be a great city and I look forward to working hard to make that a reality.  It is going to take us all to achieve big things.  I am confident that Cynthiana’s better days are ahead of her.

  • The giving spirit is a welcome part of early Christmas

How can stores already have out Christmas decorations? Santa Claus and Rudolph? Christmas trees for heaven’s sakes!
Yikes, let us at least get through Thanksgiving. Is this how the majority of people feel? Most likely.
However, for some people, it’s Christmas all the time.
