‘Tis the season for yard sales.
Any homeowner will admit that in a short time, accumulation of what we think to be precious items that must always be near us, tend to add up to one cluttered room or basement.
When was the last time you dared to venture up stairs to find your mother’s old tea pitcher that has not been used since she kicked the can over 10 years ago?

  • Blame should not be placed on paper’s editor

    To the editor:

  • Phones are nice for proof of insurance, but keep your card, too

On June 25 a stack of new laws will take effect while others are groundwork for future changes.
For example, House Bill 180 mandates that the Kentucky Board of Education come up with a teacher, or certified personnel, evaluation plan.
However, they have until the 2014-15 school year to get that accomplished.
Most people who work outside of the home have to go through some sort of annual performance evaluation. It’s a time when strengths and opportunities for improvement are identified and then work goes on.

  • What is Obama actually wanting?

    To the editor:
Praise should be given to Obama for his program on health. After reviewing the program to ensure better health for young and old, male and female. The initial concept is good, even though it will cost more money on our insurance policies. Some policies will increase by 40 percent to provide this coverage.
A big concern is that this program promotes contraception in schools for youth as young as 15 years old. This encourages promiscuity among youth which is contrary to moral and natural law.
