  • Your Voice Has Power

When I was a little girl and my sisters and I would argue, my mom would say to me “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”
I used to think that was the dumbest thing I ever heard. But, experience has told me there is something powerful in our words. Whether they are encouraging or destructive, our words are the compass by which we can guide the quality of our relationships and our lives.

    To the editor:

There are seven precincts in Harrison County represented by Congressman Andy Barr of the Sixth Congressional District.  Registered Republicans in Eastside, Southside, Buena Vista, Clifton Village, Extension Office, City Fire Department and Library have an opportunity to vote for a Harrison County citizen, Roger Brill in the upcoming Republican Primary Election, May 17, 2016.

    To the editor:
My purpose is to encourage registered Republicans to vote for Roger Brill as the 6th Kentucky Congressional District candidate in the May 17 primary election.
Roger is my friend and a long-time Harrison County resident.  He is a Civil Engineer graduate and a welder.  He owns and operates the Steel Trailer Company in Cynthiana, a steel fabricating corporation.  He is not a professional politician.

It’s about leveling the playing field; about everyone in a classroom on the first day of school starting off with a brand new box of crayons.
The Harrison County Board of Education voted Tuesday to continue to provide back-to-school school supplies for elementary and middle school students and to not charge fees for high school students.
    The price tag is $52,000.
It’s a small price to pay.
Superintendent Andy Dotson told board members that many students were coming to school not prepared.
