  • Seeking support of a worthy cause

    To the editor:
I am writing this letter with the hope that there are some supporters of PTSD and veteran suicides. With the number of vets committing suicides daily, at least 22 maybe more a day, this number is too high.

  • ‘Scam predators do not care how honest or vulnerable you are, in fact they like you best when you are at your weakest’

Recently I was in a meeting with seven people of different ages, and I realized that they all lived alone. It was not on the meeting agenda, but we drifted into a conversation about having to deal with harassing intrusions into our lives. It was immediately obvious that these threats were causing harmful stress in their lives.
For some time I have not addressed this topic, mainly because I feared it would seem I was taking advantage of my own personal situation. However, I worry that so many innocent people find themselves victim to media predators and worse.

  • The only way to make things better is to get involved

I’m getting just a little bored with of all the Cynthiana-trashing I see and hear.
    Social media is the worse.
People who choose to contribute nothing to Cynthiana and Harrison County continue to bad mouth their hometown.
There are some great things happening in this community.
If the loud-mouthed minority want more to do, want to see less drugs and thugs and want Cynthiana to return to its glory days, then they need to get involved.
Nothing can be gained by sitting on the sideline, grumbling and criticizing.

    To the editor:
I live in the 6th District and I will be voting for Roger Brill in the primary because Andy Barr has proved to be an establishment Republican. Mr. Barr assured us that he would oppose the liberal agenda. His promises collapsed when he voted with Henry Reid and Nancy Pelosi for the Omnibus spending bill which fully funded Planned Parenthood, sanctuary cities, and Executive amnesty for two more years. He cannot defend why he voted for the things he says he stands against. I feel sold out.

  • FRANKFORT FOCUS A legislative perspective on the General Assembly

FRANKFORT – The General Assembly may have wrapped up its work on April 15th, but this year’s legislative session didn’t technically end until last Wednesday, when Governor Bevin signed or vetoed the final bills the House and Senate had sent to him before adjourning.
The great news is that we now have a budget in place for the next two years that moves Kentucky forward while addressing the serious financial problems our state retirement systems are facing.
