    To the editor:
    The parishioners of St. Edward thank everyone who supported our Ice Cream Social. It was a great success. All proceeds benefit the operation of St. Edward School.
    We appreciate the kindness and generosity of our local businesses which provided items for our silent auction. We are grateful to the many members of our local churches and community who stopped by and enjoyed some great food, delicious cake and ice cream. Thanks for your support.

  • Kentucky legislators get behind six-day mail delivery

    To the Editor:
    Kentucky’s Rural Letter Carriers and Congressman Ed Whitfield inched forward in preserving 6-day mail delivery; on May 20, Congressman Whitfield agreed to co-sponsor H Res. 30: Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the United States Postal Service should take all appropriate measures to ensure the continuation of its 6-day mail delivery service. Congressman Whitfield’s co-sponsorship coupled with that of Congressman Tim Griffith (R-AR) on May 22 now has majority support of the House of Representatives (218).

  • Getting lost in a small town should not be this easy

    Growing up, I moved approximately every two years with my dad serving in the Navy. As I was shuffled from city to city and state to state, whether it be East Coast or West Coast, I never lived in a small town. It was always the bigger cities like Memphis, Tennessee. or Jacksonville, Florida.
