  • Endorsing Linda Furnish for Clerk

    To the editor:

  • What’s so “pure” about obsolete?

So last weekend, I drove eight hours north to watch movies at the Drive-In.
The Riverside Drive-In in Vandergrift, Penn. sponsors two film festivals a year: The April Ghoul’s Monster Rama and the Drive-In Super Monster-Rama, which happens in September.

  • Reader endorses John Green for magistrate

    To the editor:
This upcoming election day affords the opportunity to cast votes for a lineup of new candidates as well as the incumbents for the various offices. By giving some of the deserving new candidates a chance to express their views and be instrumental in shaping the policies for Harrison County, it will encourage others in the community to step forward and be a part of positive change. One forward looking young man I endorse is John Green.

  • Aviation Day was a great event

    To the editor:
We were very pleased with the 200 plus people that showed up for Aviation Day on Saturday, April 26 at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Airport. There was a lot to see with 24 planes, one helicopter, 30 plus classic cars and 20 motorcycles.
I want to thank everyone that helped make this event a success.
Thank you all for a great event and hope to see you in June for Young Eagles.

  • Humane Society often pays full vet bill

    Dear Editor,
Thank you for writing about the Humane Society last week. To clarify one issue about our spay/neuter program, we pay the entire vet bill for an animal’s surgery. People have the option to donate any portion of that cost from $1 and up. We have been pleased to see the number of people contributing to “pay it forward,” to help keep our program running and allowing us to spay/neuter more pets.

    Jill Morgan
President, Humane Society of Harrison County

    By Chelsea Vergara, Guest Columnist
Bullying is more than just words or actions!!
Bullying depends on who the bully becomes in life and who the people that get bullied become.
Bullying is the use of superior strength or influence to intimidate someone, typically to force them to do what one wants.
