• Hampton an excellent Sheriff

    To the editor:

Sheriff Bruce Hampton has proven to be an excellent sheriff and has done so much good for our community on all levels.
He is a dad, husband and granddad who believes in standing up for what is right and helping to keep our families safe.
I appreciate Sheriff Hampton and his family for the sacrifices they’ve made for our community.

  • Friend found thanks to readers

    To the editor:

Many thanks for printing my last “Letter to the Editor.” We found Carl Taylor at the Veterans Center in Wilmore and I have received a letter from him. I’m so grateful to connect with him once again.
Just one person replied to my letter in your paper and that was Jeanette Sowder of Cynthiana, but that’s all it took. I’m very grateful that she took the time to write me. I may have a new pen pal!
Thank you for your phone call and the follow-up to my inquiry.

  • City does not need parking lot

    To the editor:

Thank you Becky Barnes for your editorial concerning another parking lot on Pike Street. I agree with you completely.
If the building on Pike and Walnut Sts. must be torn down, let’s turn the area into a pretty little park. We would have something that we could be proud of - not another parking lot.
    A very concerned citizen.

  • Berry Data Center too important to lose

    To the editor:
If I were a candidate in the up and coming election, I would listen carefully to what the citizens are saying about the current situations in my backyard. I would want to know why they don’t like the new bypass, why they don’t want money wasted on the perspective boat dock with summer water levels at 2” deep, and more importantly, what the teens and young adults in my neighborhood are doing with their leisure time.

  • Levin idea for amending Constitution has merit

    To the editor:
The Liberty Amendments (Restoring the American Republic) by Mark Levin is an alternative method of amending the Constitution. The states are permitted to by-pass Congress by proposing amendments to our Constitution.
Our Constitution has been amended by two-thirds of Congress proposing an amendment that is ratified by three-fourths of the states. The dormant method that has been unsuccessful is two-thirds of the states proposing an amendment that is ratified by three-fourths of the states.

  • Reader thanks God and others who touched her life

    To the editor:
Too often in one’s life we fail to recognize or embrace the opportunity to thank someone who has made our lives better. This note is an opportunity for me to do that.
As a teacher, I met in my classes, as well as in my educational community, many people who not only made me a better person but who also enriched my life in so many ways. This is to let you all know how much all of you helped to make my teaching career an enjoyable part of my life.
    Thank you.

  • Berry resident thanks magistrate for work

    To the editor:

This has been a trying winter for all the citizens of Harrison County and for our City of Berry. I want to publicly thank our Magistrate Larry Wells for his tremendous help in clearing some of the streets and driveways in the city. We have many people including myself, who do not have the equipment to remove snow.
