To the editor:

The tornado destroyed three of our barns and our shop. We were so fortunate that it didnt do any damage to our home. Also we were so thankful no lives were lost.

We just want to thank all who worked so hard to clean up the mess the tornado left. They spent time working on our farm when they could have spent time with their families. Thanks also to those who sent equipment, wagons, etc. and to the churches, Beef Cattle Association and individuals who provided food. It was all much appreciated.

To the editor:

I am writing in praise of Harrison Memorial Hospital and its new maternity wing.

This past spring, I discovered I was expecting a baby. After seeing an advertisement in the paper for Drs. Clarke and Bell, I called and began seeing Dr. Mary Bell. I received excellent care from the beginning of my pregnancy to the delivery of my son in the fall. The facilities at the hospital were immaculate and the nurses were kind, professional and caring.

On Feb. 6, 2008, our lives changed forever. Only by the grace of God, were we spared and given the opportunity to rebuild what once was our home and our lives.

Betsy and I would like to sincerely thank our family, our friends and our local community for all the prayers and gifts that have been provided to us during this difficult time in our lives. We are so blessed that the only loss in Harrison County was material in nature and we had no loss of life. The material items can be replaced.

Our thanks go out to our friends, neighbors and community members who volunteered their assistance after the tornado damaged our home.

Whether you brought food and drinks, packed boxes, carried wet furniture of just stopped to give a hug and words of encouragement, we will forever be grateful.
